Before you have your music made, here is some advice which may help!
We have learnt a few things along the way which are important considerations to make before you have your music produced - here are some important things to think about:
1. LEAVE PLENTY OF TIME
So many of our customers get in touch saying that they are in desperate need of music in a week or two's time. Equikur UK can produce music at short notice and the quickest we've ever done is 24 hours. However, in order for us to do the best job possible, you need to place an order in plenty of time so the music can be perfect and you can have plenty of time to practice before the competition.
2. GET THE VIDEO RIGHT
There is nothing we can do with a routine that isn't right on the video. We can estimate timings where the horse has gone a bit haywire in his canter or stumbled in a walk, but the timings will never be perfect this way. Take your time and get the routine spot on and your music will be too.
3. WHICH MUSIC?
Choose your music very carefully. Equikur UK can choose music for you based on your horse and your tastes, but will also work with any particular choices you may have. Just bear in mind that the songs that you really like to ride to may not actually fit your horse at all. Some degree of compromise is sometimes necessary to get the best routine.
4. WHICH SURFACE?
Some riders are completely unaware that riding on different types surfaces can change the timings of a routine significantly. Please bear this in mind and if necessary we can make the transition sections of your music overlap to allow for the change in timings.

5 FOOTFALLS
We would love to get music which hits the beat of footfalls every step, however this can be changed by the type of surface, weather or even your horses mood on the day! We go by the FEI handbook's advice on this which states that the rhythm of the music should match different paces, movements and transitions.
